Mundane to Magnificent - Ancestors from 100 years ago
The lovely Carmel Galvin has come up with this meme for National Family History Month. Which of your ancestors were alive 100 years ago, and what did their daily life encompass? So which of my ancestors were alive? I'm only going to look at the direct line of ancestors. My aunt and uncle on my father's side of the family were both alive. My aunt Hazel would have turned two years old in 1926, and my uncle was born in 1926. Their parents, Ted and Ethel, were both alive and turned 26 and 22, respectively, in 1926. On my mother's side of the family, both my grandfather and my grandmother were alive. But I don't know if they even knew each other at that point in time. They didn't get married until 1934. My maternal grandfather, Tom, would have turned 28 years old and my maternal grandmother would have turned 24 in 1926. All my great-grandparents, bar one, would have been alive.
