  Week 15/52 Robert FORFAR – 1817 - ? Ahnentafel Number 56 Context for discovery: This biography was written as part of the 52 ancestors in 52 weeks exercise devised by Amy Johnson Crow.   You can join in too here . The theme for this month is Check It Out and this week is How Do You Spell That?   Robert was my 3 rd great-grandfather.  FORFAR is not an easy surname to search for, mostly because there is a place called Forfar in Scotland and the word can also be used to describe a type of fabric or linen.   This makes it quite difficult to search for in newspaper articles. Sigh. Or machines, or fabrics, or .... whatever your imagination wants to do with it."  Alan Burnett on Sepia Saturday   Today's post is going to be very weavy, windy because that is how my brain is at the moment.  Very weavy, windy.  Not windy.  Winedy.  So I set out with the intent of talking about my Forfar ancestors, because I believe they worked in mills in Bannockburn, Scotland.  When I googled Bannockburn, I came up with a Bannockburn in Queensland.  How about that?   It's just south-west of Yatala (where you can get some delicious pies) and is part of Logan City Council.  You can find out more ...
