Meetings feature a short talk or workshop relevant to Central European research. You will receive assistance from very experienced researchers.

10:00am-12:30pm Military Group GSQ

The aim of the Group is to assist members with their research into their military ancestry through discussion, guest speakers and acquisition of resources. The group can help beginners and assist more experienced researchers overcome any problems they face locating information on their military relatives.

Sunday 26 July

Aims: To offer support and research assistance to all who are searching for their German Ancestry.To encourage and exchange information in an informal setting. To provide guest speakers when possible to help guide us through the maze of information available to us.To learn the history of Germany and immigration ad why our ancestors chose to leave. To get to know about German people and their customs.

Bicycles played an integral role in the Boer War, WWI and WWII. Jim Fitzpatrick, author of The Bicycle in Wartime, gives a fully illustrated talk on the role of bicycles in war.
